This can aid in powering units in the original MixPre, MixPre-M, and MixPre-II series. With most compatible recorders, releasing the MX-HIROSE is as easy as pressing the release tab. However, on the MixPre-10 II, a flathead screwdriver will be necessary. Set your MixPre's power source internally to the NiMH option before use. When connecting the MX-HIROSE to the original MixPre units, Sound Devices recommends using a right-angled Hirose connection.
